Dilin inkişafını izləmək heç də asan deyil. Nəzəri və metodoloji elmi əsasların daim yenilənməsi zəruri olsa da, müasir elmdə bu problemə çox vaxt kifayət qədər diqqət yetirilmir. Bütövlükdə dilin mövcud vəziyyətini, eləcə də fonetik quruluşunu başa düşmək üçün müasir dilin hər bir fenomenini uzun tarixi inkişafın məlum nəticəsi kimi, daha az müddət ərzində baş verən bir sıra dəyişikliklər nəticəsində nəzərdən keçirmək lazımdır. Təəssüf ki, biz öz işimizdə ingilis dilinin bütün səslərindəki tarixi dəyişiklikləri tam şəkildə nəzərdən keçirə bilmərik, çünki bu çox böyük məlumatdır. Buna görə də biz məqaləmizdə yalnız samit səsləri və onların ingilis dili tarixindəki inkişafını nəzərdən keçirdik.

Historical variation in the phoneme composition of the English language:
the sound law concept
Abstract
It is not easy to follow the development of the language. Although it is necessary to constantly update the theoretical and methodological scientific foundations, this problem is often not given enough attention in modern science. In order to understand the current state of the language as a whole, as well as the phonetic structure, it is necessary to consider each phenomenon of the modern language as a known result of a long historical development, as a result of a series of changes that occurred in a shorter period of time. Unfortunately, in our work, we cannot fully consider the historical changes in all the sounds of the English language, because this is too much information. Therefore, in our article, we considered only consonant sounds and their development in the history of the English language.
